As the trend toward tubeless tires accelerates, how can traditional inner tubes break through?

Currently, the trend toward tubeless tires is becoming increasingly pronounced in the tire industry, particularly in the passenger car and truck/bus sectors, where most tires now utilize tubeless construction (i.e., radial vacuum tires). This trend presents significant challenges for traditional inner tube manufacturers.
Due to their more advanced structure, tubeless tires offer improved safety, heat dissipation, and comfort, and have become standard equipment for mid- to high-end vehicles. In the replacement market, consumers are also increasingly opting for tubeless tires, particularly for urban and high-speed transportation.
Face this situation, how can traditional inner tube manufacturers find a path forward?
First, inner tubes are not "outdated" and are still widely used in specific applications. For example, motorcycles, agricultural vehicles, construction machinery, bicycles, and electric vehicles continue to rely heavily on them for their simple structure, low cost, easy maintenance, and adaptability to complex road conditions.
Second, as the consumer trend toward "multi-scenario, multi-demand" consumption intensifies, inner tube manufacturers should develop more functional products. For example:
High-temperature-resistant inner tubes: Suitable for regions with high summer temperatures;
Punch-resistant inner tubes: Suitable for outdoor cycling and delivery vehicles;
Lightweight inner tubes: Improve riding efficiency and are suitable for sports bikes;
Eco-friendly inner tubes: Made from renewable materials and embracing green manufacturing policies.

Furthermore, the export market still has considerable potential. Developing countries and certain regions still rely heavily on traditional inner tubes, and there is a strong demand for cost-effective products. By expanding sales channels in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and customizing products based on local needs, inner tube manufacturers can capture a share of the international market.
Faced with the rise of tubeless inner tubes, traditional inner tube manufacturers are not in a "change of industry" but rather a "transformation." Through technological upgrades, product segmentation, and market diversification, traditional inner tube companies are well-positioned to find new growth points and secure a place in the new industry landscape.
